Background

After graduating in Lund, Johan worked on risk analysis at a consultancy in London before moving to Norway and joining DNV in 2008. Since 2009 his work has been about floating wind power, and he led, among other things, the development of the first standard in the field, published in 2013. He stayed at DNV until 2019 and then moved on to Aker Solutions, Aker Offshore Wind and Mainstream Renewable Power.

David is a senior engineer with over 15 years of experience in research and development, a decade of it in wind power – mechanical design, load analysis, control systems and structural engineering. Before SeaTwirl he led engineering teams at a large Danish wind turbine manufacturer, responsible for the design and optimisation of the main bearing, the yaw system and the main foundation, among other things. Early in his career he took part in developing, manufacturing and installing a 200 kW vertical-axis wind turbine.

Background

Eric has 16 years of experience in structural engineering and project management in the oil and energy industries, 3.5 of them at shipyards in South Korea as lead engineer across several disciplines. He is used to large international projects, both as project manager and as specialist engineer, from the start of design to finished structure. One of them was the world’s largest production platform, built for Chevron in 2012.

Background

Martin has worked and lived abroad for large parts of his career, which began with Shell’s graduate programme in the Netherlands. Since 2018 he has been a project manager for technology that reduces shipping’s energy consumption and emissions, at what was then Yara Marine Technologies, today Manta Marine Technologies. Immediately before SeaTwirl he led the retrofit project with the large rigid wing sails WindWings, the first wind-assisted propulsion system of its kind.
